Editorial and Corrections Policy

Plain English, with the limits included

Our primary audience is owners and drivers of ADAS-equipped vehicles worldwide. Technical accuracy comes before search traffic or sales. Useful explanations include what a system cannot reliably do as well as what it can do.

Source priorities

Where a claim depends on current rules, assessment protocols or technical requirements, we prefer primary sources such as Australian Government material, regulators, recognised safety organisations and current vehicle-manufacturer information.

Review dates

Guide pages display publication, update and review dates. A review date means the article was assessed for material accuracy and currency on that date; it does not mean every linked external page will remain unchanged.

Vehicle and regional differences

We distinguish general principles from information about a particular vehicle, software version or market. Legal requirements, manufacturer instructions, industry practice and our recommendations are different things. Information from one country must not be assumed to apply everywhere.

Owner questions and useful visuals

Forums and owner reports help us identify questions and recurring frustration. They are not proof of a defect, its prevalence or its cause. We explain answers in our own words and use original or appropriately licensed visuals. Representative dashboard illustrations are labelled; the exact symbols and responses in your vehicle may differ.

Visible evidence and the older library

Our upgraded guides include a Sources reviewed section with source links and access dates. Older articles are being reviewed progressively and do not all have the same source detail or visual treatment yet. We do not refresh dates simply to make an article appear newer.

Independence

ADAS Project is independent of vehicle manufacturers, equipment suppliers and commercial training providers. Commercial relationships, affiliate links or sponsored material will be clearly identified if they are introduced.

Books and resources should earn their price through usefulness. Commercial relationships must not buy technical conclusions, and essential safety information must not be withheld to encourage a sale.

Corrections

Material errors are corrected as soon as reasonably practical. Significant corrections may also result in an updated review date or explanatory note. Readers can report a concern through the contact page.

Responsible use of AI tools

Digital tools may assist research organisation, editing and quality checks. Editorial responsibility remains with ADAS Project. Safety-critical and time-sensitive claims require human review against appropriate sources before publication.
